Why should applicants take the trouble to make their personal profile public in detail and with careful editing on job boards, LinkedIn or even on Facebook?

What added value do recruiters offer applicants when they make themselves visible on the digital marketplace with their resume and complete the conventional reactive/proactive application process with such a step of their own toward the job market?

The question shows that the job market and recruitment as a whole are in the digital transformation phase.

For applicants, digital transformation offers unbeatable advantages in the job search process: It connects the searcher quickly and easily (via the search profile) – with a few clicks and contact requests – with recruiters interested in him or her. At the same time, it offers (depending on the platform) a global reach to the targeted job contacts. It also provides access to exclusive headhunter jobs that do not appear on the public job market. The contacts are made discreetly. At the same time, initial feedback on the applicant’s  own profile and market value can be obtained during the interviews, which are based on the recruiter’s contact requests.

Special advantages arise from the fact that job seekers can build up a network of recruiters. Personally or via the respective platform, they can repeatedly involve the recruiters in the further career process. In favorable cases, the headhunter or the recruiting HR manager promotes the candidate’s profile in the company. This encourages the creation of a suitable position in the company in order to bind the positively assessed potential of the applicant to the company in the long term.

In summary, it can be stated that digitization offers a clear added value for job seekers:

  • Acceleration of the process of recruitment
  • Intensification of communication with recruiters via the platforms
  • Expansion of the spectrum of promising communication partners
  • more choice of vacant positions
  • and, as an additional effect, the opening up of job opportunities in the hidden labor market.

It is very clear that the added value increases significantly through the use of digital communication platforms and the presentation of one’s own applicant profile for both job seekers and recruiters.
